EXTENDED PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITY

Until 2016, manufacturers focused on production and sales, neglecting environmental impact. To address this, the Indian Government introduced Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) under the Plastic Waste Management framework.

EPR requires producers, importers, and brand owners to manage plastic waste through recycling, reuse, and disposal, holding them accountable for their products’ entire lifecycle, including post-consumer stages.

Obligations & Compliance under EPR

  • Incorporating improved recyclability in the production and packaging.
  • Financing end-of-life collection, recycling, and disposal.
  • Reusing PIR &PCR waste in the supply chain.
  • Documentating recycled waste.
  • Maintaining records of PCR-recycled compounds.
  • Conducting audits to ensure regulatory adherence.

Meeting EPR Standards: Integrating waste management and sustainable manufacturing

  • Expansive sourcing area: We specialize in collecting waste from varied terrains including mountains, coastal areas, and urban and rural settings.
  • Massive network: Our collaborations with NGOs, CBOs (Community-based organizations), and local entities have built an extensive network of waste aggregators and rag pickers.
  • Efficient training: We ensure waste collectors associated with Peeco Polytech are well-trained to segregate varied kinds of plastic waste.
  • Impactful recycling: We provide expert guidance, stringent segregation, and baling processes for sorting plastic with properties to manufacture high-performance compounds.
  • Customized strategies: We offer specialized facilities and strategies for different terrains and needs, supported by customized training for waste collectors.
